One week until I see the doctor that said NO!

So I decided to take some time out today from my busy day, and write a blog. I needed some me time!

I just realized that I go to the doctor in a week. Not just any doctor, but the one who told me that I can’t do this on my own. That  I would have to have surgery to get rid of all the weight, that I woudl never be able to do it. It has been a year since I last saw her. I can’t wait to march right into that office on the 17th and show her how far I have come! I want to just see her reaction! I want to shove it in her face that I have lost 65 pounds since 12/28/07! I have this speech planned out in my head, whether or not I actually give it is another story:

I can’t do it my butt! I can do it and thanks to you doc, I have come more than half way! You made me so made, and really depressed for a while. But then I took that anger and I used it to push me! I used it to fuel my motivation!   I was doing this to prove you wrong, but some where along the way I started to do it for me, because it felt good because I realized that I was worth it!  I just have two words to share with you…… I CAN!

So that is what I would really like to say to the doctor on the 17th. I am too reserved and probably won’t say any of it, but at least you all know how I really feel!

Well I am off to get the turkey ready for dinner. I am having company today, my parents are coming to have dinner with my hubby and I!

Wow. You took a negative and turned it into a positive. You used that the doctor said to motivate you. The look on her face when she sees you next is going to be PRICELESS.

Great job showing her that you aren’t going to be kept down! You should feel very empowered that you have done it!

I HOPE YOU TELL HER WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND. HOW ALL HER NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND WORDS GAVE YOU THE WILLPOWER TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE STRUGGLING WITH

I can’t believe a the doctor told you that you couldn’t do it!!! That’s horrible!!

You should definetly say something. But I wouldn’t give her any credit. Just say something like, “I know. Amazing how I lost 65 lbs without having surgery huh?”

I’m soooo proud of you Julie! I love how you took a major negitive and turned it in to a major positive! Even if you don’t “tell off” the doctor I do think you should say something. You took her terrible comments and turned them around but, you never know how many patients she truly discouraged for good. Maybe she doesn’t even realize how much her words hurt. I’m so glad I know you. You are such a great motivator~

Congratulations! You have found out that Dr’s are pple too, and can be wrong. I work in the medical field and I have worked in a fertility dept. I have seen a few cases like yours - the women actually conceived after being told they never would. Believe me, I have seen some arrogance and some compassion from physicians. You are your own miracle and your appearance alone will speak volumes to this Dr.
